Human Rights for Human Embryos: No to Deadly Embryonic Stem Cell Research

A human embryo is not distinct in kind from a human being, but a human being at an early stage of development.We must speak for human embryonic Life as we speak for all human life. We must expose and oppose this new form of genetic slavery wherein an entire class of human persons is being labeled as property to be used by those who are more powerful. Every "extraction" of stem cells from an embryo kills a human embryonic person. It is immoral and should be illegal.

Labor Day: The End of Summer invites us to Reflect on the Dignity of all Human Work

A Catholic vision of work views it in light of the Incarnation of Jesus Christ.The entirety of our human experience was assumed by Jesus, including our labor, our human work, no matter what form it takes. All work was transformed by Christ the worker! The Son of God worked. Even as a child he learned from Joseph, the carpenter, and worked with wood, with His Holy hands. Certainly he sweated, got dirty and even experienced tedium at times, but because He was in communion with His Heavenly Father all of his work was joined to the Father's work. That is the same relationship we now have with the Father through Baptism.
