St. Anicetus
Anicetus was a Syrian from Emesa. He became pope about 155 and actively opposed Marcionism and Gnosticism. His pontificate saw the appearance of the controversy between East and West over the date of Easter. St. Polycarp, a disciple of John, is reported to have visited him in Rome about the dispute, which was to accelerate and grow more heated over the following centuries.

Dear Saint,
I earnestly pray for the good health of my wife who is suffering from various illness like acute leg pain and headache besides taking care of two young children. Kindly bless her with strength and courage to live each day gracefully. Enable her to face all the struggles with patience and hope in Christ. Bless her with all the support she needs to endure the troubles of each day happily. Let the angels of the Lord to take care of her and our children. As we are eagerly looking forward to join each other, help us to have patience as long as we need to wait. We truly trust in the wisdom and power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

St. Anicetus, while reading todays saint posting, prompted me to look up exactly "where" Emesa is located in today's Syria. I did. We all have heard of the atrocities the Syrian governors are inflicting on the population. It seems Emesa is "Homs" the capitol and place the news reports the majority of human suffering is taking place. Daily bombings on civilians by their own government cannot be tolerated, yet the Soviets and Chinese blocked aid from being allowed through NO votes in the United Nations. We must band together, with prayers to St. Anicetus to create divine intervention in Emesa, today. As Christians we need to create intervention for the Syrian people who are Catholic or not, so they do not live in fear of bombs being dropped on their homes and businesses, and the power of misdeeds be taken from their leaders.
Thank you Lord Jesus for your BLESSINGS that you have given to me, to my family, my kids, the family of my family. and to those who invoke thy IAid. In Jesus name. Amen.
Dear Pope St. Anicetus pray for us, especially that the Church, Christ's mystical body may be united under Pope Benedict. Amen.
