Patron of Milan; Breisach; haymakers; invoked for the discovery of thieves

Untrustworthy tradition has Gervase and his twin brother, Protase, the sons of Vitalis and Valeria, who suffered martyrdom for their Faith. Both children were also martyred for their Faith; Gervase was beaten to death with a lead tipped whip and Protase was beheaded. They are considered the first martyrs of Milan ever since St. Ambrose, guided by a vision, unearthed their remains there. His feast day is June 19th.

I followed this story [and association with St Ambrose] via a link from St Madardus, a consistent 'twin' [brother ] element evident here also, and via a link from St Swithun initially, my interest arising in part via the birth date of my elder twin siblings, born St Swithun's day 1941- in a United Kingdom, sons of a journeyman carpenter. Mother born 8th June, Feast Day, St Madardus I note latterly. The twins later, godparents, with myself, standing in witness to the [adult] baptism of my wife Rose, at St Ambrose Church [a N.West of England, Anglican Church]. Presently draughting a commentary on this situation, which I hope may prove useful to others ultimatly. I am indebted to 'Catholic Online' comment re St Gervase, if unclear at this point regarding the 'untrustworthy tradition' comment attaching . I find truth, certain consistency evident, oppositely - the reason for including personal data here. Comment re 'untrustworthy' appreciated.
