Shop St. Macarius the Ghent
Bishop of Antioch in Pisidia. He made a pilgrimage and was given welcome by St. Bavo of Ghent, Belgium, and the monks of Saint-Bavon. Macarius was captured by the Saracens but escaped and traveled throughout Europe performing miracles. He died in Ghent of the plague. He is patron saint against epidemic diseases and is also called Macanus of Antioch and Macaire.
