St. Hegesippus

St. Hegesippus

Feastday: April 7
Died: 180

A Jewish convert to Christianity, considered the Father of Church History. Born in Jerusalem, Hegesippus spent twenty years in Rome. He was the first to record the succession of popes from St. Peter to St. Eleutherius. Only a fragment of his work remains. Hegesippus returned to Jerusalem in 177 after visiting most of the important Christan churches, and he died there.

This day I have known the origin of my name, I tried to find it everywhere I was unsuccessiful, I asked my late dady he could not tell me the meaning of my name or the origin of it. I will have to spend more time to readr about this church writer.
Besides all I have realised the spelling of name are also not correct if it were to mommick the name of the writer.
