Bishop and martyr of Vietnam. A native of Ellorio, Spain, he entered the Dominican Order and was sent to the Philippines. From there he went to Vietnam in 1858, serving as a vicar apostolic and titular bishop until betrayed by an apostate. He was martyred by beheading with St. Jerome Hermosilla and Blessed Peter Amato, by enemies of the Church. He was canonized in 1988 by Pope John Paul II.

Please pray gor the people of Australia who have been hit severely by secularism that the faithful will have the courage to go out and re-evangelise this beautful country ...especially the young who seem extremely ignorant of the Creator and most of all Our LORD JESUS CHRIST who paid a dear price for us Amen

St. Valentine Berrio-Ocho, you are celebrated on All Saints Day. Pray for us together with all Saints who have lived lives of heroic virtue in witnessing Christ Jesus. All Saints in Heaven pray for the sick and suffering. Grant us the blessing of living worthy lives. I've been told that all Catholics are called to sainthood. Make it possible for us through your loving and constant intercession. Amen.

My Grandmother is Ruby Berrio-Ochoa I can remember her going to Spain in 1988 to watch Saint Valentine be canonized. I am now very much involved in my church and would like to gather as much information as I can about him.I am told my family is related him and would like some day to go and give speeches about his journeys in life. My grandmother is still alive and can tell me what she knows, but she is growing old. If anyone out there knows anything please email me any information you have. cortezcouch@gmail.com
