St. Andrew the Scot

St. Andrew the Scot

Feastday: August 22
Died: 877

Archdeacon and companion of St. Donatus. Andrew and his sister, St. Bridget the Younger, were born in Ireland of noble parents. They were educated by St. Donatus, and when Donatus went on a pilgrimage to Italy, Andrew accompanied him. In Fiesole, through a miracle, Donatus was elected bishop. Andrew was ordained the archdeacon of Fiesole, serving Donatus for forty-seven years. He also founded a monastery in Mensola, Italy. Andrew died shortly after Donatus, but his sister, St. Bridget the Younger, was carried by an angel to his bedside, all the way from Ireland.

Dear St. Andrew of Scotland, I praise God for the saintly life you led in honour of our God and Creator. You have given us and example of faithful service to Jesus, our Master. Grant us many graces to do the same in our own little way in our everyday lives. May the life we lead prepare us for the moment we surrender our soul to God Amighty. No regrets for lost opportunities is what I want. Dear miracle worker, cure all children who suffer terrible seizures, speech delays, tantrums, aggression and noncompliance. Help us dear Saint. I ask this on your feast day. I ask this in Jesus name. Amen

i have been reading on different saints, angels, articles, so on.., my grandson first name is Andrew n/ he is a good boy, he is 11 yrs old, but sometimes he seems to be sad. He feels that his mom dont give him much attention not affection. I have been present when it has been times I can see n/ understand what he is feeling. Ever since Isabella his sister was born was as if she put a wall in between. I have mention my daughter of her acts but she always response, " you stop babying him, he is big not a baby. I always say to her, does not matter how big they r u should always give them a hug n/ tell them u love them. That is not pamper him by no meaning,Andrew said to me few month ago, that he wish he was in a foster home or hope Isabella stay more often w/ her dad. U see my daughter had 2 children, andrew first born by her fiance in which before they got married they broke up, but andrew was a little baby when it took place. Them later, she married n/ had Isabella but before that andrew n/ his mom were inseparable, he was the apple of her eyes. I feel for my grandson n/ I pray for him. That Yahweh will bring peace in his heart n/ restored my daughters love toward him again before is too late. Andrew keep saying that he is going to run away when he gets older, There r constally fights between Isabella n/ him, but most of the time andrew gets punished n/ isabella dont. He is always send to his room to watch the TV while Isabella watch it in the family room,, honestly I dont think is fare,. Why does Isabella has the privilage to sit in the family room so she can watch what ever she wants , even she also has a TV in her room, but he is not allowed to watch what he likes, very serdon when he does. I want my daugter to realized what is happening n/ stop. Should I pray to St. Andrews,? that through him may Yahweh fix thing up and in Yeshuas name a small miracle will occur for Andrews sake? Thank you, shalom

St. Andrew the faithful archdeacon of St. Donatus, and loving sister of St. Bridget the Younger, you inspire us with your dedication and devotion, your long and faithful service. You were truly blessed to serve a saint all your life and to have a saintly sibling. What a great life! Please help us in our daily struggles, for we are surrounded by materialism, mistrust and manouverings. Strangely, but truly, this is my experience in my family life. I pray that your heavenly assistance will see me through this period when looking after our aged and bedridden matriach is necessary. Bless my immediate family. I implore your heavenly aid...that we may be truly faithful to our baptismal vows...never to abandon our Catholic faith. Amen.
