Conductor Lee Gwozdz Joins Pueri Cantores for July 4 Celebration

CONDUCTOR LEE GWOZDZ JOINS OFFICIAL STUDENT CHORAL ORGANIZATION OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH FOR A MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF INDEPENDENCE DAY

July 3, 2008 (Franklin Park, IL) ― On July 4, 2008, the Pueri Cantores American Festival Choir, conducted by Lee Gwozdz, will celebrate the Fourth of July in Washington, D.C. with an honorary performance along the National Mall across from the White House. This festive performance at 11:45 a.m. will be a part of the opening ceremony for the official 2008 National Independence Day parade.

The Choir will sing a patriotic number for the assembled masses at the reviewing stand of the parade. Hundreds of thousands of spectators along Constitution Avenue will be treated to the thrilling sound of this combined chorus of Catholic youth singers.

The American Federation Pueri Cantores is the official student choral organization of the Catholic Church. More information about this fine organization can be found at www.puericantores.com.

Conductor Lee Gwozdz serves as Director of Music for Corpus Christi Cathedral, Corpus Christi, Texas, and as Executive Director of the Cathedral Concert Series, both posts he has held for the past seventeen years. In addition, he serves as the Executive Director of the Corpus Christi Symphony Society, Inc.

Lee's music and his acclaimed "Singing FUNdamentals Toybox" program is published by World Library Publications (WLP), the music and liturgy division of the J.S. Paluch Company, Inc.
