LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to online news magazine Grabien, President Obama refers to himself 76 times within his thirty-three-minute speech.
The keywords included were "me," "myself," "our," and "we," with "we" only added to the tally when the president was clearly including himself.
If you are unsure of whether or not Grabien's count is accurate, the video is available for viewing and TIME posted a transcript of the speech. As Graiben reported, Obama spoke about pain when giving speeches following mass shootings, about meeting Gabby Giffords shortly after she was shot -noting she opened her eyes for the first time an hour after his visit - spoke of the Second Amendment, "his background as a contitutional law professor, his critics, his frequent trouble locating his iPad, and perhaps most memorably, his anger when thinking about child victims of mass shootings."
After primarily speaking about himself, several took to the internet to voice their opinions, with one commenter labeling Obama a "Homosexual Narcissist Muslim terrorist," while another simply stated most Democrats "are Marxist."
In relation to his tears, The Daily Beast notes Obama cried at a campaign stop in 2008 when he discussed his grandmother, who had just passed, then cried again during yesterday's speech -through the same eye.
Many believe Obama is a fake, an idiot, a Muslim terrorist hell-bent on destroying America, and more.A president talking more about himself than the larger issues - mass shootings, more stringent gun control and the Second Amendment - is a definite sign of something wrong in the White House.
When Obama finally got around to talking about gun control, he announced his intention to "hold a town hall meeting in Virginia on gun violence."
He clarified, "...my goal here is to bring good people on both sides of this issue together for an open discussion."
He returns to himself, claiming his intentions are true as he is "not on the ballot again" or "looking to score some points."
Really? Perhaps he is attempting to score points so when he is written about in history, he has more to his name than being the first black president and enforcing the unwanted Affordable Care Act. In the end, he only wanted to talk about himself while hiding behind the controversial issue of gun control.
Do you have comments on the fact that the U.S. president spent most of his speech talking about himself? Leave them in the section below.
