Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

Extremely disturbing footage out of Syria shows the bombing of kids at a primary school in a region of Syria loyal to the regime of Bashar al Assad. The footage is very disturbing to watch because the victims are children.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - At least 41 children were killed at the end of their school day when a car bomb detonated in front of their school when they were released to go home. As parents frantically search for their children, the bang of a second bomb is heard. This second bang was the blast from a suicide bomber who drove by with the intent of blowing himself up alongside even more people.
The attacks allegedly killed 47 people and wounded at least 56 others. It is likely the death toll has increased since.
Save Christians from this kind of genocide. Oppose the killing of innocents.
The problem with reporting this incident is that news of it has been suppressed in the media. There are no major news outlets reporting this atrocity. Furthermore, media outlets reporting on these incidents are being told to take down the content for violating content standards on Google, and various internet service providers (ISPs).
In other words, outlets are being compelled to choose between telling the truth and being penalized financially, in the name of "standards." At the same time, these same search providers and other firms are peddling pornography and other forms of smut at great profit to themselves.
The fact is that nothing should be censored. A free press is just that and people have the right to see and hear the truth for themselves without government or private censorship. Without access to the truth, people cannot make properly informed decisions; they will only be informed by the propaganda they are fed without the benefit of contrasting information.
It should be the decision of any discerning adult if they wish to be exposed to such media. Few people will want to see this content, yet everyone has the right to choose for themselves. Nobody has the right to say to another adult that they cannot see a documented truth for themselves.
War and conflict are ugly, terrible affairs. We do not know who is responsible for the current bombing. Discussion forums have been quick to blame the Islamic "moderates" opposed to Assad's regime, and supported by the Obama administration.
However, without independent confirmation that's just speculation. This attack could have been carried out by the Islamic State or even Assad's own counter-intelligence operatives as a means of influencing opinion. It's all speculation.
Regardless, the video footage posted here captures an unfiltered view of war and destruction. It demonstrates that war consumes children, not just "terrorists" radicals or politicians.
Perhaps if more people get a look at the carnage war creates, they'll be less enthusiastic supporting it.
