LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to Daily Mail, Bobokulova started a fire at the Meshcheryakova home then decapitated the child.
Local media outlets reported Bobokulova was shouting: "I hate democracy. I am a terrorist. I want you dead. You have become so hardened, you have eliminated so many of us. Look I am a suicide bomber. I will die, doomsday will come in a second."
Bobokulova made her way to a metro station where eyewitness Alexandra Shuvalova claimed she caught sight of the murderous woman.
"When I got close to the metro, I saw a woman running along the street," Shuvalova explained. "I could see that she had her hair in her hands or something like that. She was waving this thing and screaming something and drawing some shapes in the air.
"This woman either had a birthmark or a wart on her right cheek. It was a distinctive feature because she was dressed in [sic] entirely in black. I realised it wasn't a wig as I thought initially, but a head - that's why blood was dripping on her shoes and skirt.
"I stopped, had a cigarette, tried to get my breath back to normal because I was so shocked."
She said two policemen and a security guard failed to stop the woman as civilians ran from her.
"I heard her yelling 'Allah Akbar' at least three times. And hitting herself on her chest. She was yelling something in her language. She ran to a cafe and started shouting: 'It's all you! All you!'"
Several other eyewitnesses said they thought the head was fake, that the woman was walking the streets for quite a while, that no one was willing to challenge her, and one person simply stated, "Everyone was afraid."
Another eyewitness, who was not named, said the woman cried out, "My child was killed...I will blow up everyone," and also shouted, "I hate democracy."
After a dramatic capture, officials reported Bobokulova's actions were the result of her husband's infidelity.
A psychiatric test was immediately ordered and the screaming woman was finally detained. Disturbing video of Bobokulova's capture was recorded near the metro station. Police tackled her to the ground while first responders fought to rescue civilians and douse the flames Bobokulova started.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire and save four people before discovering Anastasia's body, still dressed in pajamas, lying bloodied in her crib.
One officer claimed Bobokulova was suspected of using "explosive elements" at the apartment, but "it might be an inflammable liquid that she used to set the apartment on fire."
An unnamed source from the Investigative committee said Bobokulova "waited until the parents with the elder child left the flat, then for unknown reason[s] she killed the child, set fire to the apartment and left the scene."
Anastasia was born with learning difficulties and was unable to walk, which left her entirely defenseless in the wake of Bobokulova's attack.
Officials reported the nanny wanted the family to know that she murdered their daughter, despite working for them for a year-and-a-half.
After psychological testing, if she is deemed fit to stand trial, Bobokulova can face up to 20 years in jail. As she is believed to suffer a psychological breakdown, her attack has not been treated as an act of terrorism.
