We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - China's Communist Party is the largest atheist organization in the world, with 85 million official members. However, there are an estimated 100 million Christians in China, according to Breitbart.

As authorities continue to crack down on public Christian groups, the greatest growth of Christians is coming from unofficial Protestant "house churches" and underground Catholic churches.

Save Christians from genocide today!

"By my calculations China is destines to become the largest Christian country in the world very soon," explained Fenggang Yang, a professor of sociology at Purdue University and author of Religion in China: Survival and Revival under Communist Rule.

Freedom of religion in China is rare; party members are forbidden to believe in any type of religion.

Since 2013, persecution of Christians in China has drastically worsened, according to the annual reports of China Aid, a human rights group. The persecutions go directly in line with China's deteriorating religious freedom over the last eight years.

As the number of Christians in China grow, the frequency of religious crackdowns increases. Observers say the atmosphere is getting worse.

"Things have got worse this year because the police started to detain us. I was detained for a week," said Zhao Sheng of a Beijing Christian group called Shouwang. "But Christmas is still a happy time. No matter what happens, God is with us."
