LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Satanic group Dakhma of Angra Mainyu, co-founded by registered sex offender Adam Daniels, scheduled a black mass this August at the Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall, where two events will take place.
According to the group's event description: "The consumption of the Mary by Jai Kali Maa, is an event that will have two seperate [sic] rituals that will show the evolution from satanism to ahrimanism. The first ritual will [be] the black mass as done in 2014, and the second ritual will be the consumption of Mary by Jai Kali Maa. The second ritual will educate the public on the practice of ahrimanism.
Conservative Roman Catholic group Tradition Family Property (TFP) heads the advancement of the petition to cancel the event, which worked in 2014 when satanists attempted to hold a black mass at Harvard Square.
The petition reads: "I regret to inform you that satanists are planning a Black Mass on city property at the Civic Center in Oklahoma City on August 15, 2016. Please spread the word to all your friends so we can stop this sacrilege. Your voice and prayers were decisive at Harvard University -- the satanic Black Mass there was stopped. Canceled. Saint Michael won a great victory that day. And God can win again.
"Our petition goal is 200,000. Your petition, together with many more, will be presented to the Civic Center, as well as the Mayor of Oklahoma City and the Governor of Oklahoma before August 15. Registered sex offender Adam Daniels will be leading the anti-Catholic satanic ritual on public property.
"Every Black Mass is a direct, deliberate and sinful act of hatred against God. Often, a Consecrated Host is stolen from a Catholic Church and then used to desecrate, mock and insult the Catholic Mass. The Person of Our Lord Jesus Christ is attacked in a most vile and unspeakable manner. These insults against God are not only offensive to Christians, but also repulsive to everyone of good will.
"Spread the word. Ask your friends to sign this petition. Thank you & God bless!"
Despite the petition garnering over 105 thousand signatures, it is unlikely the mass can be stopped.
When the satanic group held a black mass at the Civic Center in September 2014, Oklahoma Parks and Recreation allowed the activity for fear of a costly lawsuit.
"If we had cancelled the event, we would likely have been sued by the ACLU, whom we know was watching the case very closely," a spokesperson stated.
The spokesman continued, explaining : "In the past, when the city has attempted to interfere with an individual's free exercise of speech on our property, we have been taken to federal court. We have lost each of those cases at our taxpayers' expense."
It is that fear that will most likely allow the group to hold its black mass, which TFP's John Ritchie describes as a "double attack" against Catholics as the event targets both God and the Virgin Mary.
