6 types of men Christian women should dismiss for marriage

From the liar to the mama's boy, some types of men should be avoided.

Women, and men, should be wary of whom they shall live with for the rest of their lives. Marriage is not a temporary commitment, it lasts for a lifetime no matter how you will put it --- two people still shared the same vows to cherish one another through a sacred sacrament. Thus, each have to really think about every aspect before deciding to whom you shall trust to be with in a new chapter of life guided by God.

span style="line-height: 15.8599996566772px;">MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Love doesn't have to be blind, each person must have the courage to see what's beyond the person. Emotions can easily sweep us off our feet, but we have to get back and stay grounded as we walk on our path.

To avoid dizzy floating along the way, with some help from Crosswalk.com, here are six of the men who bear the red flag Christian women should look for.

1. The Nonbeliever

It is a struggle to date and marry someone who does not share the same beliefs. This missionary dating and marriage has long been debunked as people do not change easily just because of a relationship. Married life goes through tough times, it is best to be with someone who supports you all the way, sharing the same goals and perspectives.

2. The Liar

Trust is an important foundation every relationship must have. A person you cannot trust is not a good idea to spend the rest of your life; the bond may be easily broken, leaving you hurt. God doesn't want you to spend the rest of your life playing hide and seek with the truth.

3. The Narcissist

Couples are advised to make God the center of their relationship, but if your partner cares more about his personal life rather than you and Him, you might want to reconsider your choice. "Humility, compassion, love, and respect towards others are much more admirable characteristics than simply the externals," according to an article at Crosswalk.com. One-sided relationships are not easy to walk through.

4. The Controller

If we are going to abide the stereotypes, men love to take charge and control everything in their sphere. Although that is not true for all, there are people who love going through lengths to dominate the relationship. There will be times that you may think he really just wants to help as he may say, but there are still limitations when it comes to things even inside an intimate bond.

5. The Abuser

No one should suffer from abuse as no one should perpetrate the harm. God does not intend anyone to live in constant pain and suffering. Abusive partners are not worth the consideration for marriage. Marriage should be built in love and trust, which this kind of people can't achieve until they free themselves.

6. The Mama's Boy

It's not a bad thing to love a mother, in fact we all should give love and respect to that one woman who went through struggles just to deliver us safely in this world. However, there's a line between a respectful, lovable son and a mama's boy: that person whose world revolves around their mothers or their parents in general. It signifies dependence and lack of motivation to pursue things on their own. They always consider their mother first before anyone else including you, even inside your own relationship.

There's a lot of things to think about and evaluate. But rest assured, if you put God above anything else, the struggles from this phase in life is not going to be as hard as you imagine. Nothing is impossible through Him, you just have to open your heart and mind, make the right decisions and believe in yourself.
