LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Late last year, Catholic Online unveiled its "infinite scroll" page, which displays the homepage content in a far more visually appealing and efficient way. That change has dramatically improved consumer engagement and interaction with the site and its related content, including ads.
The company is enjoying its best year ever on record.
According to Catholic Online management, the website saw in the month of March, a 43 percent increase in the number of visitors, a 52 percent increase in the number of unique visitors, and a 40 percent increase in pageviews. Catholic Online compared those numbers to the March 2012 statistics (Google Analytics), before the website redesign.
Catholic Online now enjoys well in excess of 4 million unique visitors each month, with traffic spikes around religious observances and commercial holidays such as Christmas. The website is also reporting increased success with its news reporting, seeing multiple stories spiking on Google News and other aggregation websites with increasing frequency.
Catholic Online has arrived as a proper mainstream news outlet for Catholic news. The agency has also increased the profile of its news reporting and is now getting an increasing number of exclusive and high-level interviews both within and outside of the Church.
These figures translate into better performance for advertisers and stronger revenues for the website, which can now pass its profits and performance to clients in the form of special offers and increased ad inventory.
Both online and brick-and-mortar vendors are welcome to share in this success. According to management, the website always offers a sale or a special on one advertising package or another, and repeat customers often get better, VIP-type deals.
