A message to Kim Kardashian: the Virgin Mary asks this ONE THING of you

You may do with her icons as you please, because it is your heart, not her image that matters.

Kim Kardashian may be one of the most famous American celebrities, and she is worth a fortune. That's why it's baffling she would desecrate an image of the Virgin Mary to sell merchandise.

After all, her initials alone are worth millions. So, we wish she would refrain from using Our Lady's image to sell secular products. And we have a message for you Ms. Kardashian - the Virgin Mary loves you, too and asks for the conversion of your heart.

The offending image posted by Kim Kardashian. However, there is one thing more offensive to the Virgin Mary than this image, and that is my heart and yours, if they remains unconverted. (Mark 12:28-34)

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) -- Kim Kardashian has bafflingly chosen to depict herself as the Virgin Mary to promote marijuana paraphernalia. The Catholic League's Bill Donohue described the act in a message on the Catholic League website. The message was passed along to Catholic Online by Deacon Keith Fournier, our Editor-in-Chief who is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Catholic League.

From Donohue: "On her Kimoji Instagram page, Kardashian presents an image of herself as the Virgin Mary; she is promoting merchandise. The animated image then blurs into a colorful, psychedelic celebration of 'Weed Day,' an annual celebration of marijuana.

"To top it all off, while filming scenes for 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians,' Kim was photographed wearing a clingy, see-through black dress with an image of the Virgin Mary emblazoned between her breasts."

As Donohue succinctly points out, "Kim Kardashian is no Virgin Mary."

It is sad to see the icons of a woman who sacrificed so much of herself to participate in God's plan of salvation for us, to be desecrated to sell merchandise and a personality. Perhaps to Ms. Kardashian,  the Virgin Mary is long gone, her icons are merely art, free for satirizing under our First Amendment.

But for Catholics, we see the Virgin Mary as the ultimate example of womanhood. She is the ideal feminist icon. God asked her consent, and she gave it freely. She remained a virgin and was forever undefiled by man and sin. She served Jesus Christ all His life and was present at His death and resurrection.

We believe she did not die as people do but was assumed into heaven. She still speaks to our faithful, and works miracles.

There is only one thing she asks of us. She does not ask that you refrain from spoiling her icons. The Virgin Mary has no care for icons, and you can do with those as you please. But the one thing she asks will make it impossible for you to look upon her image without tears, and that is the conversion of your heart, Ms. Kardashian.

The Virgin Mary asks for the conversion of my heart and yours, and the hearts of all the people of this world. She loves us, and she is our eternally devoted mother in Heaven. She enjoys the ear of Christ, so her intercession is powerful.

Let us all pray for the conversion of our hearts, and for the conversion of the hearts of people like Kim Kardashian. For the Virgin Mary loves you too, Kim Kardashian and the only gratuity she asks is that you follow her Son by loving God and your neighbors as you love yourself.
