One of the Forty Martyrs of England. A native of London, he studied for the priesthood at Reims and Rome and was ordained in 1586. Sent to England soon after, he worked for the reconversion of the island until his arrest by English authorities. He was taken prisoner with St. Edmund Genings. Polydore was hanged, drawn, and quartered at Tybum. Beatified in 1929, he was canonized in 1970 by Pope Paul VI as one of the Forty Martyrs.
