We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >
Viral video reveals army of robots eliminating hundreds of human workers in giant warehouse
FREE Catholic Classes
Chinese factories are automating with lightning speed as robots come online to replace armies of human laborers. Recently, a video showing the extent of automation has gone viral. In the clip, a company uses an army of small, orange robots to sort 200,000 parcels per day.
The little orange robots can sort 200,000 parcels per day, faster and with greater accuracy than humans.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) -- As labor costs rise in China, companies are switching to robots. Not only do the robots save money on wages, they also work longer hours and without complaint or needing time off. They make fewer mistakes.
This is not to say workers should not seek better wages or do not deserve a living wage. Instead, it is a reality of the Fifth Industrial Revolution, which is a jobless revolution. Robots are replacing humans and in the decades to come, most labor will be performed by robots and artificial intelligence.
Some people have advocated resisting this change by insisting workers accept lower wages, arguing that low wages are better than none, but this is a regressive idea.
As human civilization advances, care should be taken to invite all people to the resulting prosperity. Robots can eliminate drudgery, freeing people to find more fulfilling work. As robots and workers become more plentiful, the workweek can be shortened.
Eventually, jobs will disappear altogether, and a new model will be needed. A system will have to be devised that moves money from the wealthiest corporations and individuals to sustain the people who cannot work because no more jobs are available. Such a fate remains unimaginable, but experts continue to raise the alarm. In a century, perhaps much less, workers will be obsolete.
What we do with ourselves when that time comes is something we are yet to confront.
