We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Samsung's amazing new technology promises to help lower car accident fatalities

New technology allows vehicles behind large trucks to 'see through' them.

Traffic accidents are horrifying and in an effort to prevent road accidents involving trucks, Samsung has introduced its new product, the "Safety Truck." The common response of drivers annoyed by a blocked view of a slow running big truck is they want to get ahead, but oftentimes, passing the vehicle poses great danger without any anticipation of what's in front of it. Introduced last week in the company's global blog, the "Safety Truck" runs even in the dark of night, according to the electronics company with hopes it'll help reduce these vehicular accidents.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Safety Truck "consists of a wireless camera attached to the front of the truck, which is connected to a video wall made out of four exterior monitors located on the back of the truck. The monitors give drivers behind the truck a view of what is going on ahead, even in the dark of night," stated the blog, according to The Blaze.

Drivers are given a better view of the road, helping them to decide whether it will be safe for them to pass the truck, according to the blog.

Samsung claims a Safety Truck prototype was developed and tested locally. The blog explained the next step for the company is to "perform the corresponding tests in order to comply with the existing national protocols and obtain the necessary permits and approvals" for the product.

The electronics company stated that the inspiration behind Safety Truck is Argentina, which has one of the highest number of traffic accidents involving cars passing trucks on two-lane roads.

In Savanah, Georgia, Road Safe America was founded to try to prevent fatal road accidents involving tractor-trailers. It was co-founded by Steve Owings, who lost his son more than a decade ago in a crash. Owings noted that the country is still lacking in truck safety regulations.
