Hawking believes humans will need to live in space to survive the next 1,000 years.

World-renowned physicist, Stephen Hawking appeared via hologram to address humanity's necessity to leave Earth to search for conducive conditions for living in space in order for human life to continue in the next one thousand years.

span style="line-height: 15.8599996566772px;">MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Using the holographic technology from his office in Cambridge, Hawking grabbed the attention of the audience at a sold-out lecture engagement, where he also issued a warning on the danger artificial intelligence (AI) is posing to humanity. The event was one of two of his talks, Saturday and Sunday, at the Sydney Opera House, according to The Independent UK report.

"We must continue to go into space for the future of humanity. I don't think we will survive another 1,000 years without escaping beyond our fragile planet," said Hawking, who referred to space travel as humans' life insurance. The famous physicist told his audience to try making sense of what is being seen and to think about what makes a universe exist.

"Be curious, and however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don't just give up." Before ending his lecture, he urged the audience to "look at up at the stars and not down at your feet."

Aside from his motivating lecture regarding space life, Hawking also gave a warning on the dangers humanity faces and will continue to face due to the growth of artificial intelligence, as well as human aggression and barbarity.

Hawking kept his enthusiasm and sense of humor during his lectures. He was sarcastically asked by the audience about the probable "cosmological effect of Zayn leaving One Direction and consequently breaking the hearts of millions of teenage girls across the world," which he responded full of wit.
