NEW WIKILEAKS: Guess who has disturbing ties to Putin? HINT: it isn't Trump

Clinton camp's Podesta did not disclose his close relationship with Putin company.

Much has been made of Donald Trump's statements about Russia and Vladimir Putin. However, leaked emails suggest the Clinton camp may also be cozy with the Russians. New information reveals that Clinton chair John Podesta has a lot of shares in a Putin-linked company.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - John Podesta, Clinton's campaign chair, has 75,000 shares in the Putin-connected Russian energy company, Joule Unlimited.

The discovery was made in a batch of Podesta's leaked emails.

The evidence reveals that Podesta is also a member of the board for the company. Podesta did not reveal this association when he went to work for the Obama administration. Ethics disclosures would have required him to report his affiliation. Perhaps he forgot he was on the board of a massive, Putin-linked Russian corporation?

When he joined the Obama administration, Podesta did have the sense to transfer the shares to an anonymous holding company. )6838 *1 5-(8 Still, he did not disclose anything. He then accepted a job as Obama's senior advisor.

The holding company is anonymous and we no longer know how closely connected Podesta is to Putin. 

Given the rhetoric between the U.S. and Russia, as well as the possibility of conflict, the fact that Podesta and the Clinton camp enjoy business ties to Putin adds a mysterious wrinkle to the complicated international crisis. Is the crisis even real? Or is it show to confuse the innocent?

It also provides a twist in that Podesta has accused the Russians of hacking his email. Why would his business allies hack his email and release it?

Unfortunately, the lack of transparency in the Clinton camp means the mystery will persist. Are we comfortable electing people with connections to our rivals that we don't know anything about?
