George Herbert Walker Bush is a Clinton lover. It doesn't matter that Bill Clinton trashed him in the polls in 1991, his vote is going to Hillary Clinton. The reason behind the surprising endorsement is simple: globalism.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Former President George H.W. Bush told Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend that he plans to vote for Hillary Clinton. Townsend is the daughter of the late Robert Kennedy and a former Lieutenant Gov. of Maryland.
On Monday, Townsend made the shocking announcement on her Facebook, posting a picture of herself shaking hands with Bush captioned, "The President told me he's voting for Hillary!"
Bush was the 41st president and vice president under Ronald Reagan for eight years. He has been a lifelong Republican.
So why is Bush, along with so many other Republicans voting for Clinton?
The reason is that Clinton represents establishment globalism. Few will admit this openly, but Hillary Clinton is a "Republican Lite" and an avowed globalist. The divide between globalist and nationalist Republicans is splitting the Republican party in two. A similar phenomenon is occurring in the Democratic party.
Globalists generally want free trade and easy movement of money, product and people across borders. It's generally good for business because business can maximize profits by seeking the cheapest labor and highest prices for their product. However, nationalists are opposed to globalism because it means fewer jobs and lower pay for workers. Other problems also abound, such as tax dodging, and mass immigration. Nationalists want to protect jobs and secure borders, even if it means slightly higher taxes or tough domestic policies. Nationalists tend to put national pride and values over profit.
President Bill Clinton is widely regarded as the first globalist, and he promoted the philosophy when the internet emerged and made globalism practical. Since then, the nation has hemorrhaged industry, jobs and revenues. The middle class has collapsed.
But Republican elites do not care anymore than elite Democrats do. Both have their share of the world and they care little for how anyone else does. And they are more concerned with growing their wealth, power and prestige than they are the future of their home country.
Among the questions put to the American people this November, is the issue of which path the nation will take. Should the nation on on a globalist path or on a nationalist path? Hillary Clinton and her Republican allies represent globalism. Trump represents nationalism and putting America first.
Regardless of what George Bush thinks, it will be up to the American people to decide what course the nation takes. Thank God.
UPDATE: A spokesperson for the Bush family has said that Bush will not comment on how he will cast his vote.
