LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - At first it was nothing but a conspiracy theory. Hillary Clinton wasn't sick at all. Then it was allergies. Then pneumonia. And now the latest apologetic compares her to FDR, with her supporters saying they will vote for her anyway.
There's the problem. Hillary Clinton is a religion for her most avid supporters who would vote for her no matter what lies she told or how poor her health was.
Hillary Clinton's house of cards began collapsing last year when seizures and chronic coughing events prompted some people to question her health. Strangely, one of Clinton's most critical arguments against her rival Bernie Sanders, was his age and health. Her campaign actively spread the rumor that he was too old to be president, and his health could fail.
The strategy worked and Clinton defeated Sanders in the primary. But now she is tasting her own medicine as her rival, Donald Trump has questioned her health.
There's good evidence. Hillary Clinton has had more than a cough in front of the public eye. She's had seizures. A hole in her tongue caused by a biopsy. She spit up into a glass of water, has a physician near at hand, and requires help up stairs.
Her doctor has come to the rescue, claiming allergies. Then, at a memorial service for victims of the 9/11 terror attacks, Clinton apparently became weak and had to leave early. She became overheated her campaign said. It was 77 degrees. A special van had to pick her up, and she collapsed as she waited. She was so limp, she lost a shoe.
Mike Pence tweeted, "Who's going to be president when it's 78 degrees?"
Her doctor now claims she was diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday.
Which makes her subsequent stroll around New York city questionable, particularly when she hugged a child while allegedly carrying contagious pneumonia.
With two months to go until the election, Hillary Clinton has put herself into a corner. Unable to cover up claims of poor health any longer, she has spent her last sliver of public credibility to claim she has pneumonia.
This puts her on the clock. She will now be under pressure to recover quickly and announce her recovery. If she has another seizure or fainting spell in a few weeks, what will she say them?
Either Hillary Clinton is sick with a chronic disease, or is prone to debilitating illness, or she is lying about her health. She can no longer afford to be ill in public.
Her staff have changed her schedule to fir the new narrative. The tragically ill Hillary Clinton has canceled her trip to California, and will rest over the next few days.
These changes come after she strolled about on a New York street, and told everyone who would listen how great she felt.
Hillary Clinton's supporters have claimed with gall that they would vote for her against Trump even if she had polio and was bound to a wheelchair. Their sarcasm is a reference to FDR, who spent his last years in a wheelchair and died in office.
But Hillary Clinton is no FDR. FDR was a progressive who led the nation through the greatest conflict in world history. He did this after steering the nation out of the Great Depression. His policies remain controversial today, since they amount to outright socialism. However, he is regarded as a great and effective president, even if we do not agree with all of his politics.
But Hillary Clinton has accomplished nothing close to what FDR did. She has no outstanding record to point to. Unless you wish to consider her astounding criminal record filled with dodging indictments, escaping prosecution, evading questions, and getting away with every sort of felony. Such an ability to escape would make Houdini jealous.
Hillary Clinton hammered Bernie Sanders over his health. Her supporters made serious accusations against the socialist senator. Now that her health is being scrutinized, it's become the subject of sarcasm.
Hillary Clinton does not love America. She loves herself. She has browbeaten everyone from her own staff to the entire DNC in an all-or-nothing attempt to win the presidency. Nothing will keep her from that goal. Her own failing health, the truth, no matter what is in the way, nothing will stop her. Perhaps this is her most presidential trait. After all, it is good to have a determined president. But unless we come to believe she loves her country more than herself, we cannot vote assured of her loyalty to we the people.
No, she is a liar who seeks only to glorify herself. She deserves obscurity, not the presidency.
