'In public, she was everyone's best friend. Privately, she was her normal self.'

Gary Byrne, a former Secret Service agent, opened up in his new book "Crisis of Character," where he reveals the side of Hillary Clinton she wouldn't dare show the world.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to excerpts posted by Breitbart, Hillary Clinton has a sordid history with her Secret Service team.

"The First Lady had a different sort of liveliness," Byrne wrote. "She once threw a Bible at an agent on her detail, hitting him in the back of the head. He bluntly let her know it wasn't acceptable. He told me that story himself."

Apparently, throwing a Bible was the least of her tempter tantrums and explosions of rage.

"Most of us knew to brace for her inevitable eruptions," Byrne wrote in his book. "They didn't happen every day, but behind closed doors we learned about them fast. In public, she was everyone's best friend. Privately, she was her normal self."

Byrnes included several other stories and described assignments to Hillary Clinton's detail "was a form of punishment handed down by passive-aggressive middle management."

Apparently, nothing the Secret Service did for Hillary Clinton was acceptable. She was certain the Servicemen were out to get her and her husband.

"They f-ed us, Bill!' Hillary screamed. I stifled a laugh. The president tried his best to calm her down. He couldn't. Hillary Clinton possessed no perspective. 'We need to get rid of these assholes, Bill!' She thought she was being tough - in command - but the issue commanded her.

"She fumed that the Secret Service's Uniformed Division, my branch, disloyal leftovers from Papa Bush, conspired against the administration. 'They've had it out for us from the beginning!' she kept yelling."

As strange as it sounds, Byrnes insists the events in "Crisis of Character" are true.

In fact, he explained how poorly she treated her Secret Service detail and included stories from other members of the team as well.

"One day, UD [Uniformed Division] officers met to review events at their respective postS [sic]. A bewildered new officer arrived. 'Hey you'll never believe it, but I passed the First lady [sic] and she told me to go to hell!'

"A second young officer responded, 'You think that's bad? I passed her on the West Colonnade, and all I said was 'Good morning, First Lady.' She told me, 'Go F- yourself.'

'Are you serious?'

'Go f- yourself!' He imitated her, pointing a finger."

During the meeting, the unit's sergeant challenged the stories "but another officer soon corroborated," Byrne wrote. "Our sergeant was speechless. We assured the rookie that this wasn't the job's normal atmosphere - at least, not under the previous administration. The sergeant fumed and called the watch commander, who pushed things up the Secret Service chain of command, who said they'd forward it to Chief of Staff Leon Panetta."

After that incident, the Service "circulated a memo reminding everyone to report any 'unusual' First Family interaction to their supervisors. The new guy (who had earned a Purple Heart fighting the Clintons' war in Somalia) got an apology for the First Lady's actions-but not directly from her of course."

Though critics argue Byrne is merely a disgruntled ex-Secret Service member with a grudge against Clinton, Byrne has quite the reputation.

In 1982, he joined the U.S. Air Force, became part of the Air Force Security Police, received the Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, AF Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon and more.

He then joined the U.S. Secret Service as an officer and served under both the Bush and Clinton families from 1991-1998. He received several awards and certificates from Bill Clinton, the then-Secret Service Director.

Byrne was praised by Clinton's Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros for his "firm authority." Cisneros added the United States was "fortunate to have [him] in such a position of responsibility protecting the President."

Bill Clinton's Chief of Staff wrote a note to praise Byrne's accomplishments, which, in part, read, "Your knowledge of the [Oval] office, the President, and the presidency is enviable."

Byrne received an evaluation from his superiors in 1995, which praised him as a "Mature and dependable employee who is an exceptionally well-informed member of West Wing detail" and who "consistently performs his duties in a highly efficient and conscientious manner."

The following year he was issued a letter of commendation by the U.S. Secret Service for "the professionalism and knowledge displayed."

Gary Byrne is a respectable man with an honorable history. His Secret Service stories concerning Hillary Clinton's inappropriate behavior may be taken with a grain of salt but the possibility of an accurate retelling is entirely possible.

Though "Crisis of Character" is not due to be released until Tuesday, June 28, it has already reached Amazon's top sales list.

Meanwhile, Clinton's team has worked hard to discredit Byrne but found it nearly impossible as most of her supporters have praised him throughout his military and law enforcement career.

In fact, Byrne is so knowledgeable of the Clinton family that he was subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Will Clinton's campaign be completely derailed after the book's release? How can "Crisis of Character" change the political race? Only time can tell.
