Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Initially, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan opposed Donald Trump, setting himself on a collision course with the politically popular mogul. His opposition came after months of acrimony between Trump and the GOP establishment which favored an insider candidate. However, the people have given Trump their unrivaled support.
With a showdown imminent between Trump and Ryan, the Speaker had a change of heart. Ryan recognized that sparring with his own party's nominee and the people's choice would be incredibly counter-productive. So Ryan has found a way to work with Trump and the pair believe they can accomplish great things together.
In his letter, Ryan wrote, "If we had a Republican president ready to sign bulls into law, what could we do?"
Ryan continued, "This month, we'll show the country what a better tax code looks like. We'll outline a plan not just for repealing Obamacare but replacing it with a better system, more focused on patients, choices and lower costs. We'll offer a plan to restore the Constitution and the separation of powers that decades of executive overreach have eroded. We'll present the ideal national security and foreign policy to keep Americans safe. We'll show how we can reform rules and regulations so they're spurring the economy and creating jobs, not destroying them. And we'll offer a better way to help lift people out of poverty and into lives of self-determination.
Ryan concluded, "It will be a positive, optimistic vision for a more confident America."
Both Trump and Speaker Ryan have discussed how they can make these proposals real. Ryan is confident that he and Trump can work together to literally "Make America Great Again."
Here's hoping!
