We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Bono advised the Senate to send Amy Schumer, Chris Rock and Sacha Baron Cohen to fight ISIS with laughter.

Famous musician Bono stood before Congress on Tuesday to suggest comedians Amy Shumer, Chris Rock and Sacha Baron Cohen should be sent to the Middle East to join the fight against ISIS.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Bono stated: " It's like, you speak violence, you speak their language. But you laugh at them when they are goose-stepping down the street and it takes away their power.

"So I am suggesting that the Senate send in Amy Schumer and Chris Rock and Sacha Baron Cohen, thank you."

Amy Shumer took to Twitter to respond to Bono's suggestion. She simply provided a link to news of Bono's words and wrote, "Holy ****."

Though Bono's celebrity was formed by music, he has taken a strong stance in the world of humanitarian work. He is the co-founder of the international advocacy group ONE and has lobbied for debt relief, fighting the war on poverty and fighting AIDS.

According to Daily Mail, Bono has traveled to Jordan, Kenya, Turkey and Egypt to urge U.S. lawmakers to help "an existential crisis" in Europe.

He called for swift action and a unification with other nations to combat issues like the growing refugee crisis, Islamic extremists and the war on poverty.

"When aid is structured properly, with a focus on fighting poverty and improving governance, it could just be the best bulwark we have against the extremism of our age," Bono stated.

He spoke of the situation in Africa and described the culmination of ideology, poverty and climate create "one unholy trinity of an enemy and our foreign policy needs to face in that direction. It's even bigger than you think."

Bono later wrote an op-ed for the New York Times to talk about the link between the refugee crisis and the increase in violent extremism.

"Europeans have come to realize - quite painfully in the past year or two - that the mass exodus from collapsed countries like Syria is not just a Middle Eastern or African problem, it's a European problem," He wrote. "It's an American one, too. It affects us all.

"For too long, aid has been seen as charity - a nice thing to do when we can afford it. But this is a moment to reimagine what we mean by aid. Aid in 2016 is not just charity - it is national security."
