Mitt Romney emerges from disgraced retirement to attack Trump, disgrace himself again

GOP looks desperate to undermine people's choice for nominee.

Mitt Romney has come out swinging against Donald Trump, calling the people's choice for the Republican nominee a "phony" and a "fraud." These statements are ironic given Romney's warm relationship with Trump in the past. It is the latest illustration yet that the GOP isn't interested in the will of the people.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Mitt Romney has delivered a speech in Utah, hastily prepared with the intention of derailing Donald Trump. Romney has been criticizing Trump on social media, leading to speculation that he may enter the race in a last-ditch effort to sabotage Trump's journey to the White House.

While election year politics can be nasty, it is virtually unheard of for a party to undermine its own frontrunner. Primary contests tend to be contentious until the point a frontrunner emerges, then the party is expected to coalesce behind the people's choice. But this isn't happening.

The GOP itself is the perpetrator of fraud, not Donald Trump. Trump has been brutally honest the entire campaign, if nothing else. Can he help that the people respond affirmatively to what he has to say? Donald Trump is simply being Donald Trump. He is not mischaracterizing himself in any way. He is not a phony.

The real phony is Mitt Romney. The same man who begged Trump for an endorsement and money. Romeny is a presidential loser, and the grandfather of Obamacare, the much hated plan that was designed to make insurance expensive for the middle class and free for anyone who doesn't work.

The fraudsters are the GOP establishment insiders who are working to undermine the fair-and-square choice of the people to install a crony in the White House. The American people are speaking with  resounding voice, saying they want Trump, and the GOP is responding that the people don't know what's best for them.

The people are sensible and informed. We live in an age of unlimited information. The people can now see through the phony GOP lies. They know the Democrats and the Republicans are in collusion to undermine the basic interests of the American people. The people know the fierce divide between Republicans and Democrats is actually public theater.

So to break through the establishment nonsense, the people have chosen an outsider, Donald Trump. The establishment is so terrified of an outsider coming into office they will do or say anything to eliminate him.

Make no mistake. Trump has been impeccably honest with the American people and what he says is simply popular. He has tapped into a wellspring of anger that has gurgled under Main Street for too long, systematically ignored by Wall Street and Pennsylvania Ave.

The GOP can continue to resist the will of the people, and destroy itself in the process, or perhaps it can start listening to what the people want and possibly survive. But the bluster of two-time losers like Mitt Romney, only serves to anger conservative voters and does nothing good for the party.
