LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - The GOP's corruption is showing, in a very bad way. The people of America are speaking and they're saying they want Donald Trump to be the Republican nominee for president. This isn't sitting well with the GOP establishment and it threatens to rip the party into shreds.
Americans are angry with establishment politics. They've been left out of the economic recovery that has developed since the Great Recession and they increasingly feel they are losing ground on all fronts. Stagnant wages, evaporating jobs, a decline in rights and freedom, the inability to defend themselves against the rising liberal agenda, has Republican voters fuming with contempt for the establishment.
Donald Trump has tapped into this anger and has staged a populist rebellion against the GOP itself and the people couldn't be happier. For the first time, Americans feel they are supporting a candidate who will cut through the political gridlock and get things done.
A similar thing is happening on the left with Bernie Sanders. Democrats are less than excited with Hillary Clinton, who is seen as an icon of the Democratic establishment.
The GOP is considering desperate measures because Trump is a loose cannon to them, they don't feel they can control him. As a result, he is an enemy. To defeat him they are shifting support to candidates such as Marco Rubio. However, Rubio is yet to win a single primary, and he leads in no polls.
The Republicans have even floated the possibility to introducing Mitt Romney into the race, but they also know that would only split the conservative vote and ensure Hillary Clinton enjoys clear sailing into the White House.
Finally, they are cravenly considering Hillary Clinton herself. While they would likely stop short of overt support, they could simply write off Trump and the election and attempt to groom better candidates for 2020. Of course, such a concession would allow liberals to decide the fate of things like the balance of the Supreme Court.
The Republican Party is embarrassing itself in an orgy of unabashed corruption, attempting to undermine the people's choice for president. Their open displeasure at Trump is virtual treason against the very people who have provided financial and political support to them.
The solution to this is simple, however. Rather than abandon Trump for an establishment candidate, the voters must maintain their rebellion and carry it on to the presidential and midterm elections. They need to boot out those who are working to undermine their choice.
The Republicans don't want the people to have a voice. Instead, they want to rule over the people, telling them what to accept and whom to vote for. This is how the people got Obama and Obama care and a whole host of unpleasant rules, regulations, and presidential edicts.
If the GOP hasn't noticed, the people are unimpressed with the job they've been doing the past eight years. It's time the people made the GOP pay by taking out the trash leadership and replacing it with true leaders who will respect and advocate on behalf of the conservative half of our nation -instead of people like Hillary Clinton.
