LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Despite U.S. President Barack Obama's comments indicating Trump would never become the next president, Donald Trump leads the Republican primaries and caucuses.

Trump began behind John Kasich in the New Hampshire primary 3-2, but has since risen in the ranks.

Despite Trump's 199 Twitter insults, his mocking of a disabled man, his rude comments about women, inability to recall a single Bible verse and open disapproval of Pope Francis' Mexican Border visit, Trump has made it to the top of the Republican Party's candidates.

According to McClatchy DC, Trump's lead is the result of his appeal, which "transcends traditional political boundaries."
One supporter, who was present in Trump's South Carolina address, said, "I'm tired of all the political correctness. He appeals to your heart and he appeals to the middle class."

Retired intelligence analyst Phil Bernstein commented that Trump is "credible," then explained that the presidential hopeful cuts to the chase.

Eric Herzik, chair of the political science department at the University of Nevada, Reno, said Trump is "probably going to get about 35% of the vote, and it will be enough to win" in the Nevada caucuses.

President Obama previously stated that he had faith in the American people, who will most definitely not vote for Donald Trump to succeed him.

In response, Trump said, "I will have more crossover votes - if I get the nomination, I will have more crossover votes than anybody that's ever run for office."

Can Trump pull it off? Stay tuned-in to primary and caucus results to find out!
