Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Polls show a dramatic turn from Clinton and an increase in support for Trump.

Watch out world! Trump is coming for you! A new poll indicates Democrats are turning from Hillary Clinton to support Donald Trump in his political rise to the presidency.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Many believed Trump and Clinton were the top of each political side. The popular opinion was that Trump's presidential nomination would be truncated by Clinton -until results of a recent poll came in.

A new survey of voters suggests Clinton is losing support while Trump continues to gain.

The survey, performed by Washington-based Mercury Analytics, combined results of an online questionnaire and "dialtest" of Trump's first big campaign ad among 916 "likely voters."

It took place primarily on Wednesday and Thursday with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.

The results indicate nearly 20 percent of likely Democratic voters admitted they would vote for Trump, while only fourteen percent of Republicans believed they could potentially vote for Clinton.

Through more vigorous questioning, many more Democrats admitted they were "100 percent sure" of switching, as opposed to Republicans.

Mercury CEO Rob Howard, a Democrat whose firm works for candidates from both parties, reported, "We expected Trump's first campaign spot to strongly appeal to Republican Trump supporters, with little impact - or in fact negative impact - on Democratic or independent voters."

In addition to Trump's strong campaign trail, Howard added: "The challenge to Hillary, if Trump is the nominee and pivots to the center in the general election as a problem-solving, independent-minded, successful 'get it done' businessman is that Democrats will no longer be able to count on his personality and outrageous sound bites to disqualify him in the voters' minds."

According to the survey, 66 percent of Democrats are concerned with Trump's "general style" while thirty-two percent of Republicans and 41 percent of independents are concerned as well.
