White House currently looking for replacement

The man that President Barack Obama personally picked to build the war effort against the Islamic State will be stepping down as the envoy to the global coalition this fall. At the moment, the White House is looking for a replacement to be the next war czar to help organize efforts to destroy the jihadist group in Iraq and Syria.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Bloomberg View reported that retired General John Allen will be leaving his position soon, according to four administration officials. However, the State Department officials haven't officially announced Allen's departure. He informed his supervisors that he would be leaving government service by early November after working in the post for over a year.
Allen's departure comes as quite the blow to the Obama administration, with incoming Marine Corps Commandant Lieutenant General Robert Neller testifying last month that the war is currently a "stalemate."

U.S. officials who knew about Allen's decision stated Allen will be stepping down out of frustration over the White House's micromanagement of the war and its failure to provide enough resources.
He tried to convince the administration to allow U.S tactical air control teams to deploy on the ground and be able to pick targets for air strikes in Iraq, but his pleas fell on deaf ears.
Allen attempted to persuade the White House to agree to Turkish demands for civilian protection in Syria but again he failed.
In spite of several instances in which Allen's attempt at leadership failed, administration officials continue to emphasize Allen's decision to leave his post is motivated by his wife's health, who has an auto-immune disorder.
According to Derek Harvey, a former senior U.S. Military intelligence official who has experience working with Allen at U.S. Central Command, "John Allen has put his heart and soul into trying to make the president's strategy work."

"I have sympathy for the hard task he was given because I do not believe the president's team was fully on board and he was never empowered to bring the leadership necessary to achieve the mission," he continued.
Getting someone for the job will not be easy. Allen's replacement will share the same problems Allen encountered and the war against the Islamic State will continue to stumble until something changes.
