We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Republicans already battling for supporters

The Koch brothers, Charles and David, the wealthy political donors who have dipped their hands and massive fortunes into U.S. politics for years, may have upped their involvement, considering for the first time whether to lend their wealth and organizational contacts to any candidate in the Republican presidential primary.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - One top Koch aid even shared with POLITICO that Jeb Bush may be a beneficiary of the Koch's political machine. The former Florida governor is going to be allowed to audition for their support.

So far four other potential Republican candidates have been before the Koch brothers. Senators Marco Rubio, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz all had a meeting with the brothers in January, and Wisconsin's Governor Scott Walker also met then.

This aide said that Jeb and these four will be invited to the Koch's summer conference, and other Republicans like Rick Perry or Bobby Jindal may be in attendance too.

So far the Koch's are tight lipped about whether or not they've found a candidate they stand behind enough to grant that individual access to their massive political machine, despite early rumors that Marco Rubio or Scott Walker would take the lead.

One source reported that the brothers want to wait until the field narrows a little before picking a likely candidate, perhaps so as not to exhaust their contributions too early, when they may lack full force in the Republican primaries.
