Little girl looking Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. From over 130,000 articles, President Obama was highly favored over the Republican match.

The United States and international press show signs of strictly favoring the Democratic party. According to the Washington Examiner, a study of 130,213 news articles during the 2012 presidential election shows just how pro-Democratic the news sources were.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Published in the authoritative journal Big Data and Society, the study aims to prove that President Obama was able to steal the media spotlight from his counterpart, Republican Mitt Romney.

The media focused more prominently on Obama's campaign themes pertaining to economic issues; typically the economic circle always belonged to the Republican as "the public's general view [is] that the GOP handles the economy better," according to The Washington Examiner.

"The 2012 elections saw an 'issue trespassing' strategy with President Obama taking the initiative on the economy," claims the survey of 719 specific stories.

"Overall, media reporting contained more frequently positive statements about the Democrats than the Republicans. Overall, the Republicans were more frequently the object of negative statements," explained the study authors in their conclusion. "The Republican Party is the most divisive subject in the campaign, and is portrayed in a more negative fashion than the Democrats."
