Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >
Striking back at the Dems! Koch brothers allocate nearly ONE BILLION DOLLARS for 2016 presidential race

It seems the Koch brothers have no plans to ease their political spending habits in 2015, as top officials in the brothers' political network released a budget of $889 million to be spent on the vast political network ahead of the 2016 presidential race.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - This 2016 budget will be paying for advertising, data-gathering, activist group funding, air-time, traveling expenses and everything in between.

The budget was released prior to the annual winter meeting of the Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, the center of a massive political operation.
In 2012 the group spent about $240 million, and funded almost 30 political groups, including Tea Party organizations and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
David and Charles Koch have spent years crafting and fine tuning a political network that advances their libertarian policies. Their political spending is unrivaled by any outside organization, and in 2012 the brothers spent nearly twice the $400 million that the Republican National Committee raised.
"Americans have taken an important step in slowing down the march toward collectivism," said Charles Koch, according to a release of comments during the event. "But as many of you know, we don't rest on our laurels. We are already back at work and hard at it."
Charles continued by saying that despite recent successes, such as the 2014 midterm which thoroughly trounced Democrats, the Freedom Partners' efforts so far have been "largely defensive to slow down a government that continues to swell and become more intrusive."
During this midterm, Koch-affiliated groups advertised on behalf of Republicans to the tune of $290 million, which may have been a major factor in reshaping the 2014 election.
The Center for Responsive Politics, a non-partisan think tank, has called the Koch network unprecedented. "We have never seen this before," said Sheila Krumholz, a member of the Center. "There is no network akin to this one in terms of complexity, scope and resources."
