We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >
Obama puts pregnancy on par with cancer
FREE Catholic Classes
On October 5th, speaking to supporters in Virginia, Obama claimed that cost-free sterilizations, abortion inducing drugs and contraceptives were good because they would save money. He added about the law, "And we are going to keep it."

FAIRFAX, VA (Catholic Online) -The Catholic Church has sued the President over his unconstitutional mandate, clearly explaining that it requires religious institutions and individuals to help finance behavior that is blatantly immoral and evil. The Health and Human Services edict is at its core, unconstitutional.
Obama touted his healthcare package for providing preventative care, such as mammograms and cancer screenings, to which no person objects. However, lumping contraception in with "preventative care" essentially equates pregnancy with cancer and other unwanted illnesses.
Pregnancy is not an illness.
Consider the elegant, Orwellian nature of his remark, smoothly transitioning from cancer to pregnancy, almost as if they were similar conditions. "I don't think a working mom in Arlington should have to wait to get a mammogram just because money is tight. I don't think a college student in Fairfax or Charlottesville should have to choose between text books or the preventive care that she needs. That's why we passed this law. And I am proud of it. It was the right thing to do. And we are going to keep it."
To be clear, by "preventive care" President Obama means contraceptives, abortifacients, and even abortion.
He then blasted people of conscience by saying, "I don't think your boss should control the care you get."
This is another twist on words, since a boss cannot deny any person what procedures and pills they consume. Employers are only asking not to be forced, under threat of law, to pay for services that directly and explicitly contradict one of the most basic tenets of their faith.
Of course, the biggest lie of all is the very fact that contraceptives, abortifacients, and abortions are even part of the healthcare discussion at all. None of these things are consistent with human health, being inherently designed to prevent the formation of new life, and to destroy any life that is created.
When providing death, free of charge, is considered health care, we realize just how sick our society has really become.
