Romney wins Rubio endorsement, may be in talks with Paul.

Romney has won another high-profile endorsement, this time from Florida Senator, Marco Rubio. Last night, Rubio went on Fox News' "Hannity," and said that Romney is a "very clear alternative" to President Obama's vision for the future.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Rubio is a popular first-time senator who has enjoyed speculation that he may be a vice-presidential candidate.

Rubio also addressed the possibility of a brokered convention, which he panned. "I think that's a recipe for delivering four more years of Barack Obama," he told Sean Hannity.

Romney has "earned this nomination" he added.

When asked if he would become the vice presidential nominee, Rubio dismissed the topic, saying he did not want to be. "I don't believe I'm going to be asked to be the vice presidential nominee," he said.

Romney appears to be solidifying his front-runner status after a long and heated race that saw him lead, then drop to second and even third place in polls and primaries. As he emerges as the assumed front-runner he has gained the endorsements of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and former President George H.W. Bush is expected to endorse Romney on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Santorum continues to nip at Romney's heels and he remains the only other candidate that can rival Romney in any measure. The Gingrich campaign appears to be running out of steam as news broke last week that the campaign was in the red.

Speculation on Hannity's show also suggested that Ron Paul was in negotiations with the Romney campaign. Speculation swirled that Paul is going to drop out and endorse Romney. It was unclear if those talks were actually occurring and what the details of the deal would be, if any.

Romney's staff has denied any talks are occurring.

Romney has a strong lead in the delegate count and barring any grievous misfortunes, he will almost inevitably be the Republican nominee.

The Romney camp is already shifting its attention from the primary challengers to President Obama himself. Of course, this race is not over.
