Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >
If the U.S. were a corporation, Obama would be fired
FREE Catholic Classes
A majority of polled American voters think that if President Obama were the head of a major U.S. corporation, he'd be fired by now. Good thing for him the U.S. isn't a major corporation.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The poll was conducted by Fox News and the results were released on Thursday. According to the results, Obama would be fired by a 52 to 38 percent margin. Fifty-six percent of independents say they think a board of directors would have given Obama a pink slip by now. Nearly a quarter of Democrats feel the same polling at 23 percent.
Other results from the poll indicate that Obama's disapproval is at 51 percent and just 43 percent approve of the job he's doing. A month ago, the numbers were slightly more favorable, with 44 percent approval and 47 percent disapproval. Even among the people who approve of the job he's doing, 15 percent of those also say they think he would be fired by now.
Obama still has strong support amongst Democrats with 80 percent approving of the job he's doing while 90 percent of Republicans disapprove. His approval rating among Independents is 31 percent while 55 percent disapprove.
Sixty-seven percent of Independents say they feel disappointed or even angry about Obama's job performance.
Out of voters overall, 40 percent say they have positive feelings about the administration while 58 percent, a distinct majority, say they feel disappointed or angry.
Only 17 percent of Democrats feel President Obama has been true to his original campaign positions. A whopping 40 percent say they believe he has made significant changes to his original positions since taking office.
As for Congress, their approval is far worse. Only 11 percent of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing. It is a one point improvement from their poll results in August that reached a low of 10 percent.
The Fox News poll was based on landline and cell phone interviews with 925 randomly chosen registered voters taken from a nationwide pool. The poll was conducted with the assistance of Anderson Robbins Research and Shaw & Company Research from September 25 to September 27. The margin of error is 3 points.
Obama then can rest easy that his job is probably assured for another year, and that the U.S. is not a major corporation and nothing more than a world superpower.
However, that still might not prevent the American people from firing him in 2012.
