Accessory after the Fact: Is Planned Parenthood a Criminal Syndicate?

The time to defund Planned Parenthood is now; right now, in the upcoming battle for the 6 month continuing resolution

The two-week continuing resolution to fund the government gives all sides the chance to regroup, to frame their arguments, and to convince the American public that their objectives in spending our tax dollars are the best. In that ideological fray, the defunding of Planned Parenthood looms large in the minds of pro-life leaders and advocates; both in the public debate, and in the halls of congress

P>WASHINGTON, DC (Catholic Online) - The two-week continuing resolution to fund the government gives all sides the chance to regroup, to frame their arguments, and to convince the American public that their objectives in spending our tax dollars are the best.

In that ideological fray, the defunding of Planned Parenthood looms large in the minds of pro-life leaders and advocates; both in the public debate, and in the halls of congress. Tragically, in this two-week window, Planned Parenthood won round one. Their funding is intact.for now.

What that means is that we must make our case to the American public, and perhaps more importantly, to certain members of congress, that the time to defund Planned Parenthood is now; right now, in the upcoming battle for the 6 month continuing resolution.

I submit the following rhetorical tool be used in our quest for justice: namely, that Planned Parenthood is a "criminal syndicate," or "criminal enterprise," operating a "criminal conspiracy."

Before I make my case, the fact that Planned Parenthood is the largest killer of unborn babies in the western hemisphere is reason enough to deny them our money. In the last two years, over 330,000 unborn babies per year have been dispatched into eternity, their precious bodies lying in landfills or elsewhere, without baptism, without a Christian burial. This alone is enough reason to deny all federal (and state and local) tax dollars to Planned Parenthood.

But for the public, the press, and the congress - who have all become calloused to the horror of this genocide - another aspect of Planned Parenthood's debauchery must be used to mount public outrage, resulting in them being defunded.

Namely, the criminal aspect of their ongoing work in distributing birth control to minors without parental notification or consent, and killing the babies of minors without parental notification.

This is a criminal conspiracy; and I mean that with surgical precision.

In every state in the union, there are laws regarding statutory rape. There are also more vigorous laws regarding pedophilia.  The laws vary from state to state, focusing on the age of the girl, and the age of the male, including "consensual acts." For example, a 13-year-old girl - even if she is consenting to sex with a 22 year old man - is the victim of a crime (usually a felony) in all states in the union.

When a pregnant minor female walks into Planned Parenthood, she is a living breathing crime scene. Her pregnancy is prima-fascia evidence that she is the victim of a crime. (I understand that the individual states have various statutory age requirements to delineate between misdemeanor and felony crimes. Space does not permit a 50-state analysis.)

At that point, Planned Parenthood - as a "health provider" (God forgive me for even saying "health provider" in "quotes") - is required by law to inform police authorities that there is evidence that a sexual crime has taken place against a minor.

The record clearly proves - due to years of research, lawsuits, and the undercover work of Lila Rose, Mark Crutcher, and others - that Planned Parenthood covers up these crimes. Rather than approaching the authorities, they become "accessories after the fact;" they become part of a criminal conspiracy.

Here is an example: If you or I find out that a family member committed a robbery, or a rape, or a murder - and we had no part in, or foreknowledge of, or consent in the crime at the time it was committed - yet after we find out, we help cover up the crime so they do not get in trouble with the law, we have committed a criminal act: "accessory after the fact."

Planned Parenthood has become a criminal enterprise, participating in a criminal conspiracy - namely, "accessory after the fact" - by covering up statutory rape, pedophilia, child-prostitution, and more. They are hiding the sexual crimes committed against hundreds of thousands of female minors in America.

The psychological toll on these girls - and the attendant self-destructive behaviors that emerge in their lives over the years - is enough to break the hardest hearts. The fact that "professionals" (at Planned Parenthood) did not value their lives, their bodies, their babies, or their dignity, will work darkly in their souls for a long time. But that discussion is for another day.

Now - right now - we have the chance to defund Planned Parenthood in the 6 month continuing resolution, and then in the budget. But to do so, we will have to frame the argument in a way that enlarges our former "theatre of engagement" against PP. We need to focus - unrelentingly - on the fact that Planned Parenthood is a de-facto "criminal syndicate," a "criminal enterprise," participating in a criminal conspiracy; they are "accessories after the fact," covering up sexual crimes against minors.

We must take this message to our friends and foes in the Congress alike. With our friends, we must insist that they rise to the occasion, and refuse any more long-term funding of this criminal syndicate; with the anti-life forces, we must put them in the position where they have to defend the debauched, criminal behavior of Planned Parenthood. Let's watch Barack Obama, the Nancy Pelosi, and the Harry Reid defend this criminal syndicate that covers up sexual crimes against minors. If we do this right, it is a fight we can win.
