Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Catholic Online) - Because of our deep concerns over Governor Kathleen Sebelius' positions concerning the true fundamental human right, the Right to Life, we have closely covered the efforts to first nominate and now to confirm her as the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Recently, there have been further concerns raised regarding her relationship with notorious late term abortionist George Tiller. There is no doubt that Governor Sebelius knows this "Doctor" who has killed thousands of children in the womb or that she had his strong support in her campaign for Governor. These questions pertain to how much money was actually raised by the abortionist for the Governor's campaign in 2002.
This is all a part of her effort to paint the amount as minimal in her confirmation hearings. It is also a part of her broader effort to present herself as acceptable to Pro-Life Americans, a claim which flies in the face of her record.
We have received a copy of a fundraising letter sent out by the abortionist George Tiller during the 2002 campaign through his organization Pro Kan Do. Its purpose was to raise funds to elect Kathleen Sebelius precisely because of her "pro-choice" position. We now offer it to our readers and hope that it will help to expose the real story. I set forth just a portion of that letter below:
September 9, 2002
Dear Friend of Choice
"A few months ago. I wrote inviting you to join me in forming a new organization, Pro Kan Do. Our mission is simple - inform voters and elect candidates who are pro-woman, pro- family and pro-choice.
"I asked for your heart, your soul, your dedication and your participation. The responses stunned and overwhelmed me. Thank you for all of the volunteer time and efforts you have put forth.
"Back in July when I wrote that letter, I didn't realize how daunting our task was. As you very well know. Mr. Shallenburger, the Republican anti-choice gubernatorial candidate is an ultraconservative who will stop at nothing to limit the reproductive rights of women.
"To put it simply - if elected, he will permanently close the doors of Women's Health Care Services and put an end to the work you and I have done.
"Together, you and I have literally fought on the front lines to provide women with the best possible reproductive health care. Together, you and I have kept these doors open for more than ten years...
"In my niavete, I thought my personal contribution of $200, 000 to Pro Kan Do would be more than enough to alert voters to the anti-choice position of Mr. Shallenberger...
"Well, I sure haven't missed the abortion debate. I have been fighting this battle for more than thirty years. I chose to become an abortion doctor because abortion is the single greatest issue of civil rights and personal freedom for women.
"...Together we can make sure we have a pro-choice Governor for Kansas and continue to provide women with the best reproductive health services possible, one woman at a time. I hope you will consider contributing $35 or more and send your contribution to Pro Kan Do in my care."
----
Well we all know who that "Pro-Choice Governor" for Kansas turned out to be, Kathleen Sebelius. She is on the path to becoming the Secretary of Health and Human Services and becoming responsible for the implementing of a new health care system in this Nation.
