Rick Warren's Inaugural Prayer
FREE Catholic Classes
He did surprise me with his reference to "the name of the one who changed my life (Jesus)" and ending with the Lord's Prayer. A courageous gesture, I think, because he will be criticized for making it a Christian prayer.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Inside Catholic) - Pastor Rick Warren's prayer appropriately emphasized God as Creator, God as One, God as compassionate and loving toward all.
He made the classic mistake, in my opinion, of including brief bits of a homily in his prayer.
But Warren's tone was just right, praying for civility, humility, and unity.

It's a shame the response from the crowd was so muted. Warren was in a tough situation and acquited himself well.
