We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Catholic Online) - In a lopsided vote, the result of which was a foregone conclusion, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, President Elect Obama' one time leading rival for the Presidency was overwhelmingly approved by the Senate Foreign Relations committee.

After several days of testimony, most of which allowed the candidate to showcase her positions and set forth her agenda to attempt to elevate diplomacy over troops.

This vote clears the way for the nomination to pass to the full Senate for a full vote on the nomination after the Inauguration. It is expected to be approved by a similar margin.

Hillary Rodham Clinton will then assume the helm of the State Department at one of the most turbulent and critical times in American history. Soon, the former First Lady and now former Senator from New York will be called "Madame Secretary".

The Nominee emphasized the need to elevate the role of diplomacy and promised to exercise what she called "smart power", "America cannot solve the most pressing problems on our own, and the world cannot solve them without America," she said. "The best way to advance America's interest in reducing global threats and seizing global opportunities is to design and implement global solutions. This isn't a philosophical point. This is our reality."

Among her Democratic supporters, it was Senator Chris Bond who seems to have best expressed the support for the candidates pledge to focus on diplomacy noting, "Our nation needs to put proactively more sandals and sneakers on the ground, in order to prevent having to put boots and bayonets on the ground in the future".
