We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

BOSTON (Catholic Online) - A long standing pillar among the pundits in the Washington DC conservative political circles, Robert Novak has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
The Associated Press reported that Novak was visiting with his daughter on Cape Cod, Massachusetts this past weekend when he felt ill. He was rushed to Brigham and Women's Hospital and diagnosed with the tumor on Sunday. It is not yet known whether the tumor is malignant and a biopsy will be performed.
This news comes one week after Novak was cited for hitting a pedestrian in downtown Washington D.C. Until stopped by a bicyclist, Novak indicated that was not aware that the incident had even occurred. Speculation has been building all day as to whether there could be any connection.
In an Associated Press report, a Dr. Lynne Taylor, a neuro-oncologist, indicated that medical residents are taught to consider brain tumors when they treat patients who present as having had a recent accident when they were unaware of the event. "People get spatial and visual neglect of a certain part of their bodies and they don't realize they've done what they've done," she noted.
In a statement distributed by his publisher, Eagle Publishing, Bob Novak said "I will be suspending my journalistic work for an indefinite but, God willing, not too lengthy period."
Novak is a devout Catholic Christian who openly shares about his conversion to Catholicism and subsequent Baptism (along with his wife)at St Patrick's Cathedral in 1998. Along with that story he details his full and fascinating life as a journalist and commentator in his must read book entitled "The Prince of Darkness: 50 Years Reporting in Washington."
Never one to shy away from controversy, Novak has also been a strong defender of the unborn and a courageous advocate for the right to life. He is known mostly for his syndicated columns, written for the Chicago Sun-Times and his long time presence on TV's "Crossfire".
