LOS ANGELES (Catholic Online) - Governor Mike Huckabee has won the first State in the Super Tuesday battle.
On the second ballot, the Governor from Hope, Arkansas, and Republican underdog, won 52% of the vote. That means, if confirmed, that he has secured all 18 delegates from the State of West Virginia.
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney came in second with 47% of the vote and 1% voted for Senator John McCain.
During the first round, Governor Romney was ahead but the margin was insufficient to secure the necessary majority.
Because of the changes which occurred during the second round, some news sources and commentators are speculating that McCain delegates threw their support behind Governor Huckabee.
There is no confirmation of any such "deal".
However, these unexpected results of this Super Tuesday only add intrigue and suspense to this historic event.
