The Metropolitan D.C. Police Department reported discovering a male shooting victim at around 8:20 a.m. in the 600 block of Alumni Lane. Surveillance footage revealed that two men entered the campus from Michigan Avenue, proceeding to the plaza in front of Father O'Connell Hall. After spending a few minutes there, one of the men shot the other before fleeing the scene, according to NBC News 4.

The Catholic University of America emphasized that, based on information provided by the police, there is no ongoing danger to the university community. The authorities believe that the two individuals involved were acquainted with each other, indicating that the incident was not a random act.
