LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - While LGBTQ+ persons are able to enjoy all the same rights as any other law-abiding citizen in the United States, many are concerned with the overly sensitive public who have started to impede the rights of religious citizens.

There are several examples of Christians refusing to participate in LGBTQ+ celebrations, such as the incident at Sweet Cakes, which left Christian business owners in debt and saw the closure of their bakery after they refused to make lesbians a wedding cake.

Trump has been called to ensure religious freedoms to protect those who are unable, for religious reasons, to support certain activities, festivities and lifestyles.

Some claim Trump has no intention of protecting religious liberties in the face of LGBTQ+ discrimination cases, but a leaked draft of Trump's Religious Freedom Order says otherwise.

According to Nwo News, 51 members of the House wrote to Trump to ask him to "sign the draft executive order on religious liberty, as reported by numerous outlets on February 2, 2017, in order to protect millions of Americans whose religious freedom has been attacked or threatened over the last eight years."

On Monday, a senior White House official explained a policy to protect religious liberty is still being drawn up and would "protect employees from anti-LGBTQ workplace discrimination while working for federal contractors."

The official admitted the bill would be a delicate balance as liberty for either group would impose discrimination to the other.

The balance is clearly a difficult one to maintain, as seen by Rep. Warren Davidson's words in the April letter, which state: "Fundamentally to Christians, you can't say, 'We're going to protect your First Amendment rights and be the way they've been.' But now, to the Catholic Church: 'If you want to place a baby for adoption you have to also place them with same-sex couples' and the church says, 'That's an affront to our doctrine.' You can't have it both ways."

To Democrats, he said they need to support religious liberty protections and stated: "It strikes me that broadly, in general, progressives have been pretty welcoming to Muslims and have been very upset with the president and his tone with Muslims. I think this could be something that could be seen as a way to reach out and say, 'No, the First Amendment applies to everyone in America.'"

In a similar letter sent by Senate Republicans states: "An executive order requiring federal government agencies to protect the right to religious freedom is necessary, and directing agencies to adhere to existing federal laws protecting religious freedom is sound policy."

A leaked draft of Trump's Religious Freedom Order reveals exceptions for organization to claim religious objections to same-sex marriage, premarital sex, abortion, trans identity and contraception.

The White House has yet commented on the draft but many question whether the First Amendment will every truly be for all in the United States.
