We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Liberals don't eat their own porridge, but this isn't news.

The paragon of liberal virtue CNN has been sued by its own employees for racial discrimination. It turns out, CNN is run by hypocrites. So why do people still watch their fake news?

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) -- Current and former CNN employees have filed a class action suit against CNN and Turner Broadcasting for racial discrimination. The employees bringing the suit are black. Their suit alleges racism, nepotism, retaliation and discrimination.

In January of 2016, a suit was brought by DeWayne Walker, a producer who claim he was repeatedly skipper over for promotions because of his race. He worked while white subordinates were routinely promoted. Walker has asked for $50 million in damages.

Now a class action suit has been brought by current and former black employees seeking damages for the same issues, suggesting the problem is widespread and entrenched in the CNN culture. Lawyers for the plaintiffs claim the discrimination has been ongoing for more than 20 years.

Among their evidence is the fact that blacks are terminated at a  higher rate than whites, while they are promoted at a slower rate. Policies and practices facilitate this discrimination. Candidates for promotion are chosen by subjective criteria, which makes racism and nepotism much easier to get away with.

Some of the staff have made inappropriate remarks, such as "'it's hard to manage black people' and 'who would be worth more: black slaves from times past or new slaves?'"

Black workers say they must work longer hours and serve the company for three times as long as a white person in the same position before they can be promoted. Black employees at the same position are paid less than their white counterparts, despite doing the same work.

A few other workers have filed high profile suits against CNN for discrimination. They include Stanley Wilson, who sought $5 million for wrongful termination; Ricky Blalock, for wrongful termination; and Omar Butcher, for racial and religious discrimination.

CNN has so far declined to comment.

While the situation is a terrible one, it is notable that a liberal network is being sued for one of the things it publicly rails against, discrimination. But it should be known that most liberals are hypocrites and the rules do not apply to them.

Hopefully more people will realize this and stop consuming their fake news.
