Freed Prisoners and More Overdoses: The TERRIFYING reality of Obama's 'War on Drugs'
FREE Catholic Classes
An image of a couple who overdosed on heroin with their four-year-old son in the back seat of their vehicle went viral last week in a prime example of just how ineffective U.S. President Barack Obama's war on drugs has been.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The boy's father was sentenced Thursday to 360 days in jail, had his driver's license suspended for the next three years and received a fine of only $475.
The child's mother plead not guilty on Thursday to child endangerment, disorderly conduct and public intoxication. She will appear next week for a pretrial hearing and her bond was set at $150,000.
The City of East Liverpool, Ohio released a statement on their Facebook page with a copy of the police report and pictures of the incapacitated couple.
The child's haunted eyes stare straight into the police camera as officers reveal the "other side of this horrible drug."
The city police department claimed the post was meant to publicize what happens to the children of drug addicts and to encourage users to stop of seek help.
They wrote, "We feel we need to be a voice for the children caught up in this horrible mess" but several questioned how posting a minor's face and breaching the constitutional rights to the couple's privacy can be of help.
These are the people who would rather view the decision to publicly share images and a police report (which is already accessible to the public) than to see the child endangerment, incapacitation, illegal drug use and a driver who got behind the wheel while under the influence of a serious drug.
Obama claimed the war on drugs would be fought "the right way," and warned, "Innocent people get hurt if done the wrong way."
So what is the "right way?" Apparently, the best way to fight the war on drugs is to grant clemency to a record 214 inmates and commute the sentences of 562 federal inmates, most of whom were serving time for nonviolent drug crimes.
He claimed it was part of ongoing efforts to release inmates serving unduly harsh sentences but how is this supposed to help stop the drug epidemic?
People are dying but still, addicts want more. Who will supply them with the drugs they need? Likely the unreformed inmates who were just released by a President who claims he is battling drug use in his country.
The epidemic is so bad, one tiny city saw 26 overdose cases and one death within a five-hour period.
Who is to blame? The addicted citizens, an uncaring president, drug dealers or drug lords across the border? Each and every one is responsible. Now is the time for our government to arm itself and fight the battle waging on U.S. soil.
It is time for local authorities to step up their patrols and to get dealers off the streets. It is time for drug-addled junkies to stop receiving welfare and other tax-funded aid and it is time for social workers to do their jobs and save kids before they fall into their parents' addictive lifestyles.
When will the people take a stand against drugs and start reporting their neighbors, friends and family members? Why should the war be waged only between users, sellers and the law?
If Obama won't do his job then it's up to us to keep an eye out for suspicious activity and report to our local authorities if we see anything fishy going on. It's time to take America back from the drug lords and the first step is to get our loved ones help or, if that fails, report them and teach them the hard way - through visits from child services, jail time and no access to drugs.
