LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Former defendants and victims of sexual abuse have come forward to report Boeckmann's misuse of power.
One man, described only by the initials W.M., explained how Boeckmann reduced his misdemeanor traffic violation in exchange for bringing three bags of cans to the judge's home.
W.M. brought the cans and was offered a drink, which he declined. The documented account reads: "Boeckmann informed W.M. that he needed W.M. to pull 2 cans from the bags and bend over as if he were picking up the cans." Then he was instructed "on how to pose and spread his legs farther apart"
The court document later describes how the two shared a "sexual relationship" while Boeckmann paid W.M.'s fines and granted extensions.
According to the Washington Times, Boeckmann tendered his resignation via letter to the Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission and swore never to "seek employment as a local, county or state employee or public servant in the State of Arkansas."
Three days before Boeckmann submitted his resignation, his attorney received a letter from the commission's executive director, David Sachar, whose investigators discovered over 1,000 photographs depicting "young men [include one minor], many naked who are in various poses inside the judge's home and outside in his yard."
The letter continued, reading: "We identified many of the young men as those that your client had in front of him as defendants in Cross County District Court. Many of them are also recipients of checks from the judge during their time as defendants or probationers. I anticipate receiving in excess of 3,400 more photographs very soon, also taken from the judge's home computers."
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported "numerous photos of naked young men bending over after an apparent paddling." The letter sent to Boeckmann's attorney stated, "Please accept this as notice to not destroy [or] otherwise dispose of this paddle."
Other images revealed "acts of masturbation, naked young men bend over a desk or a bar, etc."
At least twelve men were identified in the letter, with Sacher expecting "several dozen more, if not 100 or more" joining them.
A formal investigation has been launched but no charges have been filed.
In light of the disgusting circumstances, Sacher told the Associated Press, "He's a criminal predator who used his judicial power to feed his corrupt desires. Every minute he served as a judge was an insult to the Arkansas Judiciary."
