LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Gules Ali Omar, who attempted to join ISIS, admitted he shared a route with militants so they could carry out terrorist attacks in the United States.

Prosecutors involved in the case released a document earlier this week stating Moar and three others have plead not guilty to several charges including conspiracy to commit murder outside the U.S.

The Group, consisting of 21-year-old Omar, Hamza Naj Ahmed, 21, Mohamed Abdihamid Farah, who is 22 and Abdirahman Yasin Daud, 22, are only part of a larger group in Minesota's Somali community who held meetings and planned to join ISIS.

Duad's attorney released a written statement concerning his client's innocence. He wrote that any references to 9/11 or any images revealing violent images of war crimes "would cause the jurors to decide out of fear and contempt alone."

Despite the statement, prosecutors responded with audio recordings of the men speaking several times about attacking the United States and other countries, Omar speaking of a route into the United States for ISIS members traveling from Syria, Farah speaking about killing an FBI agent and an unnamed man talking about shooting a homemade rocket at a plane.

Prosecutors continued, stating they should be allowed to "play for the jury the defendants' own words, in which they discuss the possibility of returning to attack the United States."

They added that the jury has a right to know the defendants were watching gruesome, violent videos and a mention of the September 11 attacks would be entirely appropriate.

Meanwhile, the FBI reported nearly 12 people have already left the defendant's home state of Minnesota to join ISIS in Syria the past few years, with over 22 men joining al-Shabab in Somalia.
