Nancy Reagan has passed away at her home in Los Angeles due to congestive heart failure.
She will be buried next to her husband at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. Former President Reagan died on June 5, 2004.
The library has announced there will be a period before her funeral where the public will be allowed to pay their respects to the former first lady and president.
Ronald Reagan is a conservative icon, credited with winning the Cold War and ushering in a new era of prosperity for the American people. Nancy Reagan was instrumental in launching the "Just Say No" anti-drug campaign and it is believed she was very influential in the president's decision making.
Nancy Reagan was born Anne Francis Robbins in Manhattan, New York on July, 6 1921. Prior to becoming first lady, she was an actress with several movie appearances in the 1950s though 1962. She married fellow actor Ronald Reagan in 1952. After successful film careers, Nancy Reagan supported her husband's political career which culminated in his election to the presidency in 1980.
